Port Askaig Tasting: 8, 110 Proof, 12, 18, 45

$90.00

Port Askaig is an independent bottler (from the talented crew at Elixir) that sources Islay Scotch. We suspect most product is from Caol Ila and Bunnahabhain. The Port Askaig 8 Year (Caol Ila) took Best of Show at the 2020 Whiskies of the World Awards. The Port Askaig 18 (Coal Ila) was included in a previous tasting and at $230 a bottle had the most sales. An incredible product that still has a few bottles available. The 45 year old (pretty certain it is Bunnahabhain, actually we know it is) will be an experience to taste. This 45 year old single malt is a vatting of 5 sherry butts married for a year before bottling. Its banana and cream notes may give away the distillery in the bottle, but it almost doesn’t matter. The chance to drink a 45 year old single malt from Islay is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

The Range will be presented by the Elixir Brand Ambassador Julie Hamilton. Over the years, Julie has dedicated her time to being Chair of Glasgow Whisky Club, Director of Glasgow’s Whisky Festival and a Scotch Malt Whisky Society ambassador. As of 2019, she is Elixir Distiller’s full-time Brand Ambassador, hosting events and tastings across the country – but of course, she still runs the whisky festival in her hometown.

POUR LIST:
Port Askaig 8 Year Old $63 (Caol Ila)
Port Askaig 110 Proof $73
Port Askaig 12 Year Old Spring Edition $91 (From the clues, pretty certain Caol Ila)
Port Askaig 18 Year Old $241 (Caol Ila)
Port Askaig 45 Year Old $2000 (Bunnahabhain)

Tastings include Shovels Hotdog
